The problem turnkey actually solves

Buy a scanner and you receive a pre-installation manual. It tells you what the room must achieve — and then tells you to appoint a structural engineer, an electrical engineer and an HVAC design engineer, and makes you responsible for electrical materials and for floor loading along the delivery route.

So the owner, usually a radiologist or a first-time centre operator, ends up personally sourcing and sequencing a civil contractor, a structural consultant, an electrical contractor, an earthing vendor, a shielding vendor, a lead door fabricator, an RF shielding company, an HVAC contractor and an interiors contractor. Each holds one piece. None of them owns the interfaces between the pieces — and the interfaces are where projects fail.

The gaps are almost always at the boundaries. The lead door leaks where the frame meets the wall lining. The earth fails because the electrical contractor treated it as an afterthought. The RF cage is breached by an electrician mounting a fixture months later. Nobody was responsible for the seam.

Our approach adapts to the equipment and the site. We work across CT, MRI, Cathlab, PET-CT and SPECT-CT environments. Cathlab and nuclear imaging environments bring their own interfaces — ceiling-suspended loads, specialist services, and in nuclear imaging, handling and storage considerations that shape the layout from the outset.

Why an engineering-led partner

RADbuild is led by a qualified civil engineer with experience working with global real estate firms including JLL, and turnkey project management experience gained at GE Healthcare. That pairing is the point: the structural and building-services judgement comes from the engineering side, and the understanding of how imaging equipment is specified, scheduled and signed off on site comes from having worked inside that industry.

What does turnkey actually include?
Everything between choosing a site and handing over a room the equipment team can install into — feasibility, structural work, shielding, lead doors, RF cage, earthing, electrical panels, HVAC, flooring and interiors — under one contract with one point of responsibility.
Can you work alongside our existing architect or contractor?
Yes. We are often brought in for the specialist scope — shielding, RF cage, lead doors, earthing, imaging room design — while a main contractor handles the rest of the building.
When should we involve you?
Ideally before you finalise the equipment, and certainly before you commit to a premises. Different systems make very different demands on a building, so choosing the machine and choosing the site are really one decision. Feasibility and the ingress study are inexpensive early and very expensive to discover late.
Can you help us choose which scanner to buy?
We do not sell equipment and have no manufacturer affiliation, so we have no stake in which system you pick. What we do is assess what each candidate would demand of your specific site — room size, structural load, power, cooling and access — so the purchase decision is made with the building in mind rather than in isolation.
Do you work with pre-owned equipment?
Yes, and it is a significant part of what we do. Refurbished systems typically arrive without the RF cage, quench routing, chiller platform or earthing, so independent infrastructure planning matters more, not less.
Do you work outside major cities?
Yes. RADbuild delivers radiology infrastructure projects across India.
Who is responsible if something fails at commissioning?
We are. That is the point of a single contract — there is no gap between vendors to argue about.
